Dr. Rosalba Perrone

Senior Research Scientist

Rosalba Perrone, PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist at Juvenescence with deep expertise in immune-metabolism and the biology of aging. With over six years of experience in biotech, Rosalba has played a key role in advancing early-stage therapeutics toward clinical development, with a focus on translational biology, preclinical study design, and anti-inflammatory assay development. She has a proven track record of engaging with scientific subject matter experts and clinician-scientists to develop program strategies, as well as leading scientific collaborations with both academic institutions and contract research organizations.

At Napa Therapeutics, a portfolio company of Juvenescence, Rosalba leads early discovery efforts and plays a pivotal role in shaping strategic program development. She designs screening strategies and efficacy studies to advance drug candidates through the preclinical pipeline. Her work has contributed to the identification of lead compounds, the discovery of novel biomarkers, and the expansion of Napa’s intellectual property portfolio.

Prior to joining Juvenescence, she conducted research in Dr. Eric Verdin’s lab at the Buck Institute, where she led foundational studies on NAD+-consuming enzymes and their role in aging and age-related diseases. Her work was instrumental in shaping the scientific vision behind Napa Therapeutics, and she is currently a Visiting Scientist at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, where she continues to engage in cutting-edge research on aging and metabolism.

Rosalba earned her PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Padova and is the author of over 20 highly cited, peer-reviewed publications.

Beyond the lab, Rosalba brings her creativity to the stage as part of a local improv theater group in the Bay Area. She’s also an avid reader and an active participant in two book clubs.
